Some people are devoting almost all their time to crypto investment and hoping to make it big.\u00a0<\/p><p>Whatever you think of cryptocurrency, it is here to stay, and it is making some people very rich. Cryptography makes it\u00a0<strong>almost impossible to counterfeit<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>double-spend<\/strong>\u00a0a cryptocurrency. The\u00a0<strong>victim then sent only a copy of her driver\u2019s license<\/strong>\u00a0and that was enough for the scammers to access her bank accounts.\u00a0<\/p><p>Her bank notified her that scammers were moving her money from her savings account to checking account, and then trying to<strong>\u00a0wire out a total of USD 50,000<\/strong>. Fortunately, they were stopped.\u00a0<\/p><p>Know that your information is likely to be readily available out there through data breaches, social media or even the black market. These scams usually occur through online dating with the scammer\u00a0<strong>claiming to be a cryptocurrency broker<\/strong>\u00a0who has earned big with Bitcoin. They\u2019ll try to\u00a0<strong>convince the victim to do the same<\/strong>, with their own help, which is a lie of course.\u00a0<\/p><p>Always be vary about discussing your financial status and money matters with people you met over the internet. It is dangerous to place too much emotional attachment to someone you can\u2019t put a real life face to. After all, even people you\u2019ve physically met could be taking advantage of you, so\u00a0<strong>always be cautious with your finances<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p><h3>Legality<\/h3><p>An investor from Michigan, USA, put\u00a0<strong>USD 100,000 into a cryptocurrency mining plan<\/strong>. If they promise huge profits, it\u2019s a scam. Endorsements and profiles of famous people can be faked easily so do not be fooled.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><i>Scammers\u00a0<strong>promise big payouts<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>guaranteed returns<\/strong><\/i>. Nobody can guarantee a set return like double or triple your money, certainly not in a short time.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><i>Scammers\u00a0<strong>promise free money<\/strong><\/i>. Free money sounds like a dream, because that is what it is, whether it\u2019s cryptocurrency or cash.<\/li><\/ol><p>Scammers\u00a0<strong>make big claims<\/strong>\u00a0without details or explanations. If someone is pitching to you a plan that\u00a0<strong>promises big returns<\/strong>\u00a0but they\u00a0<strong>can\u2019t explain how<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>take a step back<\/em>.
