This makes sense as without a concrete price tag, sellers can\u00a0<em>\u201cPM\u201d<\/em>\u00a0you with\u00a0<strong>any price they want to<\/strong>. Technically, all ads on social media\u00a0<strong>must have these 8 information: \u2013<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>1. The full price of advertised product, including taxes and other charges.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>2. Seller or company name<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>3. Company registration number<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>4. Contact information<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>5. Product information<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>6. Payment method<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>7. Terms and conditions<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>8. On the other hand, eCommerce platforms like<em>\u00a0Lazada<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Shopee<\/em>\u00a0<strong>impose much stricter measures<\/strong>\u00a0on their sellers.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><h3>4. Check the Market Price<\/h3><ul><li><ul><li aria-level=\"1\">Unless you\u2019re looking at a specialty or handmade item, each product should have an\u00a0<strong>approximate market price<\/strong>. What is the price of it in retail stores? How much does it cost in similar online platforms?<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">If you see an online shop selling it\u00a0<strong>way below market price<\/strong>, does it mean you\u2019ve hit the jackpot? There is a reason they\u2019re able to sell it at such a low price, that reason maybe it\u2019s a\u00a0<strong><em>bootleg<\/em><\/strong>, or it was\u00a0<strong><em>obtained illegally<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Always\u00a0<strong>be careful with prices<\/strong>\u00a0that are too good to be true.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><h3>5. In this case, you\u2019re\u00a0<strong>safe from being scammed off your money<\/strong>\u00a0without getting the product, or being shipped a completely different item from the one you bought.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Practise\u00a0<strong>caution<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>pick a safe and open place area<\/strong>\u00a0for any CODs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><h2><b>What If I\u2019ve Already Been Scammed?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2><p>If you believe you\u2019ve been cheated on or taken advantage of by dishonest online sellers, you can always\u00a0<strong>submit a report<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>complaint<\/strong>\u00a0to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nccc.org.my\/v2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>National Consumer Complaints Centre<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p>You can also report any shady businesses online even if you have not made a purchase from them.
