Supporting Malaysia’s AI Adoption Agenda with the Ministry of Digital & MDEC

12 June 2026 – As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform industries and reshape the future of business, collaboration among industry stakeholders, technology providers, and policymakers plays an important role in driving responsible adoption and innovation.

In support of these efforts, IBPO was proud to be invited to participate in the SME AI Adoption Workshop held at the Ministry of Digital, Putrajaya, with our Chief Technology Officer, Samuel Quek, representing the organisation.

Organised by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in collaboration with the Digital Business Division, Ministry of Digital, the workshop called on industry stakeholders to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategies for accelerating AI and cloud adoption among Malaysian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The session enabled participants to exchange insights and perspectives on AI adoption, supporting MDEC’s efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s AI readiness and digital transformation agenda.

The workshop was officiated by YBhg. Datin Noraisha Akma binti Ismail, Secretary of the Digital Business Division, Ministry of Digital, who delivered the opening address. This was followed by welcoming remarks from En. Sivarao A/L Aparahu, Senior Manager at MDEC.

As a fintech organisation that incorporates AI into our proprietary innovations, IBPO recognises the importance of supporting initiatives that foster innovation, digital capability development, and sustainable business growth. Participation in industry engagements such as this enables us to contribute practical industry perspectives, deepen our understanding of emerging technologies, and support the development of a stronger digital ecosystem for Malaysian businesses.

IBPO remains committed to supporting national digitalisation initiatives and collaborating with industry and government stakeholders to help drive the responsible adoption of AI technologies that enhance productivity, competitiveness, and long-term economic growth.
